Justification

Low back pain is today the most prevalent condition attended by physiotherapy. Its healthcare cost is ranked as one of the most important according to epidemiological references. Its main mechanical etiology makes the physiotherapist a key player in the resolution and monitoring of most cases, where specific therapeutic exercise according to the type of low back pain is the key element and the treatment recommended by the main clinical practice guidelines.

As health professionals, it is important to recognize the characteristics of the prevalent groups, as well as the labeling tools in functional diagnosis and treatment according to clinical objectives.

Goals

  • To train the physiotherapist in the recognition of intrinsic and extrinsic factors to identify the characterization of a patient in a prevalent group or not.
  • To train the physiotherapist in the most common red flags that are observed clinically.
  • To train the physiotherapist in the selection of diagnostic tools based on the anamnesis and physical examination. Screening and differential diagnosis.
  • To train the physiotherapist in the precise therapeutic choice according to the characteristics of a case and its clinical correlation.
  • To train the physiotherapist in the clinical re-evaluation tools to judge high functionality criteria.
