This course is aimed at physiotherapists and physiotherapy students.
Our physiotherapy course "Examination and Treatment of the TMJ: Craniomandibular Dysfunction" is aimed at all those physiotherapists who want to incorporate TMJ assessment, diagnosis and treatment techniques.
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) constitutes, without a doubt, the most neglected joint in the human body. This, together with its particular biomechanics and the exclusive attribution of the pathologies that link it to the dental and maxillofacial spheres, means that the many treatment resources that physiotherapy can offer are not taken advantage of.
It is currently unthinkable to separate the TMJ from its surrounding structures and from the rest of the body. The important biomechanical and physiological relationship that it presents with the skull and the shoulder girdle makes it vulnerable to all the positional changes that these segments undergo, influenced in turn by the general posture of the individual through the muscular and articular chains.
Manual therapy and global rehabilitation will allow us to avoid therapeutic actions that can have a negative impact on other parts of the body, and what is more important, the work between dentist and physiotherapist will obtain more satisfactory results.
The course is divided into episodes and each one of them forms a lesson.
The lessons consist of a set of videos about the theoretical part and different videos with the practical demonstrations of the techniques.
The student will have access to the course from the date indicated and will have 18 months to complete it. To pass the training, you must watch and study all audiovisual content and pass the final exam.
The course lasts 20 hours, which correspond to the visualization of the different chapters, the study of the notes in PDF format and the completion of the exam. Therefore, the student must carry out active work at home in order to pass the training.
